About the Directors

The 2024-25 season is Coach Kirchofer’s 9th coaching the girls varsity basketball team at Watchung Hills Regional High School. In his 8 years leading the program, Coach K’s teams racked up over 130 wins, had four 20+ win seasons, and reached multiple county and state tournament final games. 

During the summer, “Coach K” seeks to share his knowledge and passion for the game of basketball with our campers. A long-time coach and volunteer in the Green Brook recreation program, he looks forward to continuing his work with the young athletes of his community. Coach Kirchofer has over 15 years head coaching experience at the varsity level and has also worked as a middle school and youth coach for both girls and boys for the past 20 years. Coach Kirchofer’s philosophy is that it is not what one does once in a while that defines a player but rather what they do consistently. 

Coach Deal has been coaching at the high school level at Watchung Hills for 20 years in sports including baseball, soccer, softball and of course, basketball, where he serves alongside Coach K as the Varsity Head Coach in the Lady Warriors basketball program. Coach Deal also has multiple years of experience working as league director at some of the area’s premier basketball camps and looks forward to instructing and motivating campers to be the best basketball players they can be. His goals are making the camp experience as enjoyable and educational as possible for campers.
